Ellen F. Casper, Ph.D. and Associates
is a multidisciplinary, outpatient private clinical psychology practice. Staffed by more than 20 therapists,
along with Adella Wasserstein, MD, Adult Psychiatrist, and an experienced administrative team, this practice
has had a notable presence in the Cleveland Community since 1982. Populations served range from early childhood
through end of life.
Therapist specialties are comprehensive and address most areas of diagnostic concern. General childhood and adolescent
development problems include: depression, emotional and sexual trauma, self esteem and low confidence, social anxiety, eating
disorders and substance abuse, conduct disorders, and academic under achievement. Adult issues addressed include: depression, anxiety,
panic disorders, stress management, family discord, substance abuse, eating disorders, marital distress, relationship and
communications difficulties, divorce adjustment, employer-employee conflicts, executive coaching, grief and bereavement,
divorce mediation, and co-parenting coordination.
Most therapists in the office utilize a cognitive behavioral orientation when treating their clients, although they additionally
have expertise in other treatment modalities tailored to specific clients' needs.
Therapeutic Orientations
The therapists in the practice have been educated and trained in a variety of treatment modalities
which are specifically individualized to each client problem. Cognitive behavioral, Gestalt, Dialectical
Behavioral, Rational-Emotive, Play, Art, Psychodynamic, Motivational and Narrative, Sandtray and Family
Systems are some of the intervention strategies utilized by our experienced clinicians. Our practice
offers testing evaluations for ADHD and academic disabilities.
The office is well established with most health insurance programs and managed care networks.
The administrative staff educates clients about various insurance payment options and when requested,
offers alternatives for out-of-network payments. The support staff receives consistent high praise
by clients and professional colleagues for their thoroughness, professionalism, follow-through and
superior client communication and customer service.
Dr. Ellen F. Casper
Has been a clinical psychologist since 1981. She was an adjunct faculty member in the Psychology
department at Ursuline College for 14 years. She has lectured extensively throughout the United States
addressing hundreds of topics to business organizations, peer groups, continuing education seminars and
general audiences.
She is a popular consultant to local Cleveland talk-shows and news programs, discussing contemporary
psychology topics to business and late breaking news stories. In addition she has also been interviewed
for numerous newspapers and magazines related to current psychological issues.
Dr. Casper authored a book and video called "Less Stress" (1985), geared towards successful life balance
for the working person. She maintains an active client caseload and is directly involved with the hands-on
daily management of the office.
