The Eating Management Center
was developed 20 years ago by Dr. Casper, a specialty program to compliment the other areas of clinical practice.
Servicing individuals and families experiencing the consequences of an eating disorder. The Eating Management Center
treats people who have the following relationship problems with foods:
- Binge Eating
- Chronic Unsuccessful Dieting
We believe that people can "make peace with food" and get on with their lives. The staff of the Eating Management
Center feels this can be accomplished through the application of behavior modification and cognitive therapy.
||problem eating is identified and more appropriate behavior is established
||clients learn about the personal triggers that "feed" their poor eating habits.
Once these triggers are identified, clients are encouraged to develop more appropriate coping mechanisms
such as body image acceptance, assertiveness training, stress management and self esteem.
Our team approach at The Eating Management Center involves the client and family members as they engage
in the journey towards health eating management. Individual and family counseling are all available to
specifically address personal client needs. Our philosophy has focused upon a therapeutic environment which
is compatible with the client’s daily routines so that he/she can successfully integrate treatment
and normal living.
Our team also responds to frequent requests for assessment regarding bariatric surgery. Consultation with
expert professionals in the medical community is also a crucial component of treatment. Should a client's
medical status be critical, appropriate referrals are made to more intensive hospital based programs.
